Ongoing Training

Information Sessions and IMPACT training give families the information needed to begin in their work as Partnership Parents.

An annual continuing development requirement is designed to help Partnership Parents continue to learn about the needs of children in care. The Individual Training Plan, developed by the Partnership Parent and the case manager, includes training requirements for the first year of approval and in years two through five.

Most importantly, initial and ongoing training  helps Partnership Parents  facilitate the involvement of their birth parents in the day to day lives of their children. That involvement and support can help ease children’s anxieties about being away from their birth parents.
