Grievance Procedures
Among the supports available to Partnership Parents are the Foster Parent Bill of Rights and the Foster Parent Grievance Procedure. Georgia is one of only nine states that have a legal Bill of Rights for its foster parents. The Bill of Rights officially became law on July 1, 2004.
This three-step Grievance Procedure begins at the county level, and can proceed to the State Division Director and the State Mediation Committee, is the only remedy for violations of law. To access DFCS Foster Parent Grievance Procedures, please click here.
