Self Assessment
The self assessment process is among the most important steps toward becoming a Partnership Parent. Self assessment is simply honestly looking at your life and lifestyle and considering whether becoming a foster parent is a good fit for you and your family. The process, for many families considering caring for foster children, begins long before they formally begin the approval process,
Another assessment tool used is the Casey Foster Family Assessment. The forms are included in the packet of forms distributed during the Information Session. Prospective Parent Application applicants will complete the Casey Foster Applicant Inventory (CFAI) and four forms within the Casey Home Assessment Protocol (CHAP). Those forms are the Foster Parent Role Performance Scale, Receptivity to Birth Family Connections, Reasons for Fostering Checklist, and Willingness to Foster.
The forms are available at: www.fosterfamilyassessments.org.
